The subconscious mind is the seat of the emotions, imagination, memory, habits and intuition and the pathway to the superconscious. It is the core and the essence of how we experience ourselves and the world. Hypnosis helps a person to access the subconscious mind and change their self-limiting fears and inhibitions into healthier thoughts and behaviour that are long-term and lasting changes and develop your inner potential lying just underneath.
What is Hypnosis?
All changes take place in the subconscious mind. It’s fully aware at all times and so are you while in hypnosis. The conscious mind is completely relaxed and rested but not asleep. You will come out of hypnosis remembering the entire experience.
The subconscious always listens and wants to achieve what is best for you in each session. It is safe and natural.
Your brain waves slow down from beta to the alpha state. Incidentally, 15 minutes of hypnosis is equal to four hours of sleep, however, this does not replace the deep sleep which is known as the ‘delta’ state. You will not be sleeping during your session as you will remember everything and will be in complete control, you will be able to hear everything and you cannot be made to do anything against your deepest moral beliefs.
The actual definition of hypnosis is that it is an education communication process that allows a person’s conscious and subconcious mind to believe the same message. This is defined by the ‘International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association’. You are in a total relaxed neutral state of mind while the subconscious stays awake and open to suggestions.
Common signs of hypnosis are: a relaxed and lethargic body, slow breathing, slow pulse rate, increased focus, heightened sense of awareness, red eyes, watery eyes and tingling. It is a state of narrow focus known as the daydreaming state. Other signs are eye twitching, time distortion and body temperature.
The subconscious mind does not judge. It does not know ‘pretend’ or ‘reality’. It just accepts the suggestions it receives which, in hypnosis, is always POSITIVE and these suggestions can be very powerful.
It can treat the following: ADD, ADHD, allergies, bedwetting, illness, co-dependency, fibromialgia, fear, phobias, smoking, alchohol, addictions, body and mind healing and more. For each goal that you want to achieve, a tape can be used for 21 days in a row (we learn from repetition). If you play it before bed and drift to sleep during the play, your subconscious mind is still listening.
During sleep, the conscious mind is to some extent tense and alert but hypnosis bypasses the conscious mind to the subconscious. The critical area is put aside and objectivity is obtained and we are able to change a deeply rooted belief or habit.
Please note, that while hypnosis is an important healing tool, it does not replace the care of a doctor and all pain should be medically diagnosed and treated before hypnosis treatments.
